Today, I wanted to share my experience unboxing a GoPro Hero 12 with some accessories.

WHY?
I decided to purchase a GoPro Hero 12 because I do a lot of electric bike, hiking, running, kayaking and some other adventures.
I figured that I would try recording myself doing these things and upload these clips on YouTube and other video platforms.
I’ve made some test 1 or 2 years ago with a cheap low-quality camera and the results weren’t so good. You can actually go and see these videos. They are probably still up.
This time, I decided to invest some money in a good camera and see how that goes.
I believe GoPro has a bunch of softwares and subscriptions that you can subscribe to, but in my case I will probably not use them. I will most likely just use the standalone camera.
CONCLUSION
Overall, it feels like a very study, high quality and compact camera that is able to absorb heavy shocks.
I was quite annoyed that I had to download and use the GoPro Quick app as a requirement. I wish I could just start using the camera out-of-the-box without any setup. That being said, you don’t have to create and account. The app lets you down and update without having to register. Unless, I have to update again the firmware, I don’t think I will be using the app. I don’t think I will subscribe to the GoPro Subscription either.
There is also an update checklist. You need the to have the SD card plugged-in and at least 10% battery (if powered) or 20% (if unpowered) to start the update.
The accessories that I purchased feel okay. They aren’t official accessories from GoPro but form a company called Gurmoir. I would say that only the tripod really feels cheap and easily breakable.
