I Made my First 2 Sales on ArtPal

Hey, what’s up?

Today, I wanted to share my first two sales that I recently made on ArtPal.

If you’re interested in print-on-demand or if you’re wondering if ArtPal is worth investing your time, then this could be for you.

Let’s go right in!

1- WHAT IS ARTPAL?

ArtPal is an online platform where people are buying and selling art. They mostly sell art prints and canvas as print-on-demand. This means that you can’t exactly put your standard t-shirt designs on your platform. If you’re going to sell on this platform, I would recommend that you actually sell art. But today, with AI, I’d say it’s pretty easy.

2- WHAT I’VE DONE.

Last year, I was learning about AI and created a bunch of AI images. I created my ArtPal account on March 19, 2023. If you look at my history on the website, I started uploading these images around April 3rd of 2023.

I created around 500 AI watercolor images and made them available on a few platforms, including this one. They also have a referral program if you bring a customer to the platform.

In my case, I used the affiliate links of my images and published them on Pinterest. That way, I thought it would give my artworks some visibility and if someone clicked my link and purchase something, I would make money from the sale and also the affiliation.

That being said, after a while, I stopped uploading because I was only getting a few views but not any sales.

3- MY FIRST 2 SALES

Up until this week, I realized that I made a few sales. I received an email, but it was only a few days ago on May 15.

If we look more closely at the first sale, it was made on February 29, 2024, and I received the sale notification on April 25, 2024. My commission was $4.68. In this case, I haven’t many any money from referral. I’m assuming that someone found my image directly from the ArtPal website.

Now, if we look more closely at my second sale, it was made on March 22, 2024, and I received the sale notification on May 15, 2024. The website says that my commission is only $5.33, but it doesn’t seem to include the referral earnings. The email and the money received in my PayPal account seem to take the referral earning into my account. I made $5.33 from the sale and $1.80 from the referral, meaning my commission was $7.13. I’m assuming that this sale is coming from one of my Pinterest posts.

PayPal also seems to take a fee on the payments coming from ArtPal. I’m not exactly sure why. All my other payments from the other platform do not take any fee.

4- MY VIEWS & STATISTICS

Since I got these sales, I figured that I would watch my profile statistics. In the last months, I received huge spikes in views. I’m not exactly sure what happened.

As of right now, I think of two reasons:

  1. The first one is my sale that improved the ranking of my listings, leading to more visibility and more views.
  2. The second is ArtPal getting more traffic on its platform, which could lead to more sales. They could also be doing advertisements.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I uploaded a few AI images last year on some less known platforms and forgot about them. ArtPal is one of them. Recently, I realized that actually made two sales on the platform and both of the payments were sent to my PayPal account with a transaction fee. I also seem to be getting more views on my artworks.

Now, these are only two sales. It’s nothing too crazy. But if I start getting more views and more sales on ArtPal, it could be interesting to look more into it.

So that’s pretty much it, I hope this was helpful to you. If this blog was valuable to you, you could consider following me on social media and if you have any thoughts or comments, you can leave them below.

I hope this helps, peace!
